Pharmaceutical Bioinformatics helped the Uppsala University researcher Jarl Wikberg to develop Libiguin - a remedy for treatment of sexual dysfunctions, erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. The project is now under its way to the stock market through the company Dicot AB - see www.dicot.se

Our methods enable distributed predictions relevant for drug discovery, including predicting the toxicity for drug leads. The infrastructure requires an interoperable and standardized way of defining services and content over the Web, access to high-perofrmance computers, and is developed in collaboration with the EU FP7 project OpenTox (www.opentox.org).

In collaboration with Jarl Wikberg’s group and now Ola Spjuth’s group at the University of Upsala, Sweden, we co-founded the Bioclipse project to build a plug-in based, rich client desktop workbench for molecular informatics. Bioclipse won the JAX conference audience award for important European contribution to the development of Eclipse in 2006.
